coming spring was making happy all the residents of the southern of Scarborough.
In 1800s people from all around the world were significantly arriving to eastern
Toronto; eventually its neighbourhoods were expanding and mixing different
cultures. As a result Scarborough Village became a neighbourhood in 1830s as small village surround the railway who connected eastern Ontario to Toronto downtown; with few houses, a general store and the first post office in the former Township of Scarborough.
Nowadays Scarborough Village is fully developed with more than eight thousands families. From cosy, cottage-style houses to very expensive ranch-style houses and Tudor cottage; this neighbourhood offers a wide range of diversity, an authentic mix between the peaceful beach and the pathway to noisy downtown from Kingston road.
Scarborough Village is centred around Markham and Kingston Roads and Eglinton Avenue.

Avenue provides Scarborough Village residents with a myriad of shopping
options. The many small shopping plazas located along this stretch feature a
bevy of restaurants, as well as convenience stores, food markets, a kitchen
store and new and used car dealerships. Also included in this mix are bargain
centre, a beer store a pharmacy, a camera shop, and a video store. Some hotels
and motels in this neighbourhood for potential tourism.

Scarborough Village theatre:
A theatre
makes this neighbourhood very special, for being the only theatre located in Scarborough
area. Around seven productions are going to take place this year by three
different theatre groups such as; Scarborough Theatre Guild, Scarborough
Players and Scarborough Music Theatre. It opened his door to the public back in
1983 inside of the community centre and nowadays it has available two hundred
and forty five seats for the community. This theatre offers dramas, children's shows, cabaret and musicals
through all the year enjoyable time for all the family members.
Community Centre:
The programs
are offered for everyone from pre-school to older adults. It really serve its
purpose of connecting people, my neighbourhood is welcome to all the programs of
this community centre from pre-school to older adults. Open seven days a week
with programs such as arts, fitness, nutrition, general interest, family
support, youth leadership, stating and sports. Scarborough Village Community
Centre is at 3600 Kingston Rd. It has a public ice rink where children, youth
adults and older adults can skate free.
Beaches:
The location
of Scarborough Village is a key point. The southern part of Kingston road and
Markham road goes along with the shoreline of Lake Ontario; as a result a
beautiful view across the lake is one of the privileges from this neighbourhood.
Only a few minutes away walking to Scarborough bluffs which is a very common
destination for tourists in the summer time.
Breaking news
Recently, two armed men have robbed a gas station in this neighbourhood. The assault took place on December 21rst at 10:30 in the evening. They broke into the Esso gas station with a riffle and pointed at the customers and employees. Both suspects asked for the money and left the scene without any problem. Although, police is working on the situation, residents are concerned that even in quiet areas people could be victims of the insecurity. Moreover, this neighbourhood is requesting more surveillance from the police. Here is a security camera footage.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
The only disadvantage of this neighbourhood is the public transportation. this situation is a issue for every resident who often uses the TTC . For being the end east part of Toronto the system of buses has a different schedule. Buses does not come as regularly as they should, taking around 20-25 minutes to pass and stop around Scarborough Village. This is a problem for people's routines, 20 minutes of your life waiting to take the bus, another 15 minutes to get to Warden Station, and start your trip to Downtown Toronto. Nathan is the owner and manager of Brown's Flower Shop which is a local family florist since 1975. He describes this neighbourhood as multicultural, nature-exposed and lovely. He has been living his entire life here, 37 years walking the same streets and looking at familiar faces. Growing up a in Scarborough Village thought him the importance of peace and nature when you are raising a family. He could not imagine living in other place, with the same neighbours for over 15 years and friends around the area. His parents started this business a long time ago since it has been well-known among the residents of Scarborough Village. Actually, he works very hard to please its customers who are mostly his neighbours.
